Sense
Sense is an immersive, evolving audio-visual installation that transforms brainwave activity into responsive visual art. Participants wear a Muse S EEG headset, haptic vest, and Bluetooth Subwoofer headphones, immersing themselves in a guided sensory journey. The headphones and vest deliver deep, resonant vibrations, allowing users to feel the sound throughout their bodies, while real-time brainwave data shapes dynamic visuals in response to their mental state.
The experience is designed to explore how we perceive and "sense" the world internally. Visuals are generated live using TouchDesigner, which serves as the central platform for integrating EEG data (via Mind Monitor), audio input, and haptic feedback.
Currently, we're expanding the sensory dimensions of Sense by developing new soundtracks and experimenting with olfactory and gustatory elements which introduces smell and taste as customizable layers to enhance user experience.
Tools Used: TouchDesigner (core engine), Muse S, Mind Monitor (OSC), Skullcandy Crushers, custom haptic hardware.
